SA-L4 Make Those Who Approach Perfect 1998

THE SECOND ADVENT

THE COMING OF “ONE LIKE THE SON OF MAN”

Letter #4 In The Series - 1998

September 1991 Rewrite

To “Make Those Who Approach Perfect”

The book of Hebrews chapter ten shows us that Leviticus chapter sixteen and the three angels of Revelation fourteen have important things in common.  The things that are in common are that the Three Angels and Leviticus sixteen are all symbols and what we are interested in is what is the literal, the end time fulfillment.

For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat. For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word (Law) of righteousness: for he is a babe.  Hebrews 5:12-13.

Here we see that even though we have been skillful in the word, the time comes that symbols are changed to the literal so we need to be given understanding.  The word oracle or oracles among Christians, denotes the communications of God to His people through His prophets.  In order to be taught again the first principles of the oracles of God we need a revelation and a revelator.

Surely the Lord God will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets. Amos 3:7.

For the law, having a shadow of good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with these same sacrifices, which they offer continually year by year, make those who approach perfect. Hebrews 10:1.

When we work with symbols (the prophetic prophecies) we sometimes forget what the literal is.  When we work with the literal we sometimes forget that we are not working with symbols.  When we mix the symbols into the literal prophecy we lose the understanding of the literal prophecy.  When we mix the literal into the prophetic prophecy, or symbols, we lose the understanding of both the prophetic and the literal prophecies.  To help understand the two prophecies, prophetic and literal, we must understand that when it comes time for the “literal application” of the prophecy, all of the symbols must be removed from that prophecy and replaced with the literal person, place or thing that cast the shadow (symbol) in the prophetic prophecy.  God has promised not to leave us in darkness.

But the path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day. Proverbs 4:18.

We need to remember that to have the cleansing of the sanctuary there are two that made an atonement, one that died and the other that made a live atonement, or that escapes death.  In Leviticus 16 there are many symbols pointing to the literal.  A point of interest is that the two goats were equal.  Jesus said that the Father and the Son are equal.  Either goat could have been the one that lived.  Verse 10 says ...the scapegoat, shall be presented alive before the Lord to make an atonement with him.  Here in Hebrews 10:1 it says that we have shadows (symbols) that point to the very image (literal).  To understand, we have to rely on the promise that the Spirit will lead into all truth.

Then said I, Lo, I come (in the volume of the book it is written of me,) to do thy will, O God. Above when he said, Sacrifice and offering and burnt offerings and offering for sin thou wouldest not, neither hadst pleasure therein; which are offered by the law; Then said he, Lo, I come to do thy will, O God. He taketh away the first, that he may establish the second. By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. And every priest standeth daily ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins: But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God; From henceforth expecting till his enemies be made his footstool. For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified. Whereof the Holy Ghost also is a witness to us: for after that he had said before, This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them; And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more. Now where remission of these is, there is no more offering for sin. Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus, By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh; And having an high priest over the house of God; Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith...  Hebrews 10:7-22.

Paul is not only telling us of Jesus’ work, but all the sacrifices that are a shadow.  Some of these sacrifices are brought to light in Leviticus 16.  In verse 6, the High Priest makes an offering for Himself and His House.  This offering we have never understood.  The offering for sin we have been teaching for nearly two thousand years, but now we have been given the understanding of the offering that the High Priest makes for Himself and His House.

WHO COMPRISES OUR HIGH PRIEST’S HOUSE?

But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. John 14:26.  But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceeds from the Father, he shall testify of me: John 15:26.

This He (Jesus) said, signifying by what death He should die. John 12:33.

Before we go back to see what death Jesus died, we must remember that Jesus had promised the Spirit to us.  This promise of another Comforter is more than a clue; it tells us that Jesus will have a helpmeet and when a man takes a wife (helpmeet) that is the establishment of his house.

But this He spoke concerning the Spirit, whom those believing in Him would receive; for the Holy Spirit was not yet given, because Jesus was not yet glorified.  John 7:39.

...but the woman is the glory of the man. For the man is not of the woman; but the woman of the man. 1 Corinthians 11:7-8.

But Jesus answered them, saying, “The hour has come that the Son of Man should be glorified.  Most assuredly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat fall into the ground and dies, it remains ALONE; (because it dies, it divides and becomes two halves of one; it takes two halves to make one whole. “A man - shall cleave unto his wife; and they shall be one flesh.” Genesis 2:24) but if it dies it produces much grain. (harvest) John 12:23-24.

Here we see that in John 7 Jesus had not yet been glorified, but In John 12 the time had come.  In John 14:26 the comforter has the same name as Jesus.  Jesus, in John 5:43 has the same name as His Father, the family name.  In John 20:22.  Jesus “breathed on His Disciples, and said to them, Receive the Holy Spirit.” Here we see that the death of Jesus caused Him not to be ALONE but to give to His Disciples His helpmeet.  This helpmeet, another comforter, the Spirit, came on the Disciples on the morrow after the Sabbath, (Leviticus 23:11) they became the wave sheaf for the living ones in Jesus day and the ones at Pentecost are the first fruits.

The above quoted verses reveal that our High Priest has a house - His Helpmate - His Glory.  One with His name - the family name.  And one who knows Him so well that she can testify of everything He has said. The promise of another comforter is a wonderful clue to explain who comprises Jesus’ house.

Jesus as our High Priest had a vessel to take the blood into the Most Holy. He is that vessel.  In Hebrews it says that the Spirit offers Jesus blood, thus the Spirit also is the vessel.  In the type, Adam said, of his helpmeet This is bone of my bone and flesh of my flesh.  Genesis 2:23.  How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without spot to God... Hebrews 9:14.  Paul in Romans 8:26 tells us that the Spirit ALSO makes intercession, this is what causes the woman of Galatians 4:27, to be the barren Woman.  The intercessor(s) takes on themselve(s) the sins of the people.  By doing this, the Spirit, has the righteousness of man.

The righteousness of man are filthy rags (menstrual rags), thus the intercessor, the Spirit, is barren until, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them; And their sins and their iniquities will I remember NO MORE.  Now where remission of these is there is no more offering for sin... By a new and living way ... that is His flesh, His helpmate, another comforter, the Spirit that Jesus said gives birth.  WHY, why is this so important?  Because the LAW of the kinsman redeemer demands a righteous kinsman to bring forth the heir in the name of the dead to receive the inheritance that Satan usurped from Adam.

Why is the Law so full of shadows, symbols?  God’s Law, the plan of salvation, is the only way that God can bring man back into harmony with the family in heaven.  (Ephesians 3:14-15).  God’s truths are like bonds - the symbols come due first, then the literal. When the literal comes due it seems like the whole plan changes, but this is not true.  The symbols have been showing us what would come, we just haven’t understood the change would be to the literal

On that day there shall be a fountain opened to the house of David and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem for sin and for uncleanness. Zechariah 13:1.

But one of the soldiers with a spear pierced his side, and forthwith came there out blood and water. John 19:34.

1 Corinthians 11:7-8, tells us that the ...woman is the glory of the man.  For man is not from the woman but woman from the man.  Here we have the first man, Adam, having his glory, and the second man, Christ, being glorified, (John 7:39) or having His glory.  This special offering, of the High Priest (Leviticus 16), for Himself and His House, points to the work that Jesus did on the cross that we have not understood before now.  At the time of the Cross, the supernatural event of the temple veil being “rent in twain” (By a new and living way, through the veil that is to say His flesh), “one” was divided into “two”.  This shows the work Jesus did so He could send His Helpmeet.  The veil was a symbol.  Symbols are good, but will never, “make those who approach perfect” Hebrews 10:1.  It will take knowing what the symbols point to, to bring sinful man to perfection, even though it is Jesus’ work (in Christ all are made alive) in our behalf that makes sinful man perfect.  It is what was in Christ and knowing what the symbols point to that brings perfection.

Just as the first Adam, the type, entered a deep sleep and received his helpmate, so in like manner Jesus, the second Adam went into a deep sleep, was divided male and female and did not “remain ALONE”.   The spear put into His side opened two healing streams, blood (Jesus) and water (Spirit) (John 19:34).  1 Corinthians 11:7-8, tells us that the ...woman is the glory of the man. For man is not from woman but woman from man.  Here we see two comparable events, the first man, Adam, receiving his glory from his side, and the second man, Christ, being glorified when His side was opened.

This special offering of the High Priest (Lev. 16), for Himself and His House, points to the work that Jesus did on the cross which we have not understood until now. At the time of His death, the supernatural event of the temple veil being “rent in twain” (“By a new and living way, through the veil that is to say His flesh) also signified, one becoming two. All this to enable Jesus to send to us Another Comforter, His Helper, His other self.

The veil was a symbol of his flesh. Symbols are good, but will never, “make those who approach perfect”.  It will take knowing those who the symbols point to, to make sinful man perfect. Though it is Jesus work in our behalf that makes sinful man perfect (in Christ all are made alive). It is what was in Christ and knowing who the symbols point to that brings perfection.

But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me:  John 15:26.

The Veil: Hebrews 10

“By a new and living way which He consecrated for us, through the veil, that is, His flesh,” this tells us not only was God veiled in humanity, but that woman is the veil of the man.  Adam said, This is bone of my bone and flesh of my flesh; She shall be called Woman, Because she was taken out of Man.  Genesis 2:23. The woman was veiled in the man and the child is veiled in the woman.  It is easy to see that the woman is the veil, because she gives birth to the children; this is an every day event.  But, to believe that the antitypical Eve comes from the second Adam, we have to take it by faith, because it is not an every day occurrence.

When Adam sinned (“the wages of sin is death”, “...in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die”.), he no longer retained the ability to produce a living harvest, a child that would never experience death. Jesus came, and  consecrated  a new and living way for us. “The new” shows that no one has ever had a living harvest, and the “living way” is that,  For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death. Romans 8:2.  But the Jerusalem above is free, which is the mother of us all. Galatians 4:26.  Jesus said, “ye must be born again”. This tells us how the new birth is possible.  We all know the law that governs birth is, that the feminine member of the family or the mother conceives. When we become children of God by the new birth we are born of the Spirit, our Mother, and Jesus is our “Everlasting Father”. As children of the human family, we have no say in who our mother or father is. But, as we accept the plan of salvation, we choose our parents.

Who also made us sufficient as ministers of the new covenant, not the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.  But if the ministry of death, written and engraved on stone, was glorious, so that the children of Israel could not look steadily at the face of Moses because of the glory of his countenance, which was passing away, how will the ministry of the Spirit not be more glorious? for if the ministry of condemnation had glory, the ministry of righteousness exceeds much more in glory.  For even what was made glorious had no glory in this respect, because of the glory that excels.  For if what is passing away was glorious, what remains is much more glorious.  Therefore, since we have such hope, we use great boldness of speech unlike Moses, who put a veil over his face so that the children of Israel could not look steadily at the end of what was passing away.  But their minds were hardened, for until this day the same veil remains in the reading of the Old Testament, which veil is taken away in Christ.  But even to this day, when Moses is read, a veil lies on their heart.  Nevertheless, when one turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away.  Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. 2 Corinthians 3:6-17.

Here we see that when the Glory of the Man, which is the Woman (1 Corinthians 11:7-8) and the Glory of the Father, which is the Son (John 1:14) is unveiled,  the ensuing lighting of the earth with His Glory (Revelation 18:1.) will be so magnificently glorious (“the glory that excels”)  that nothing or no one will be able to extinguish or veil it.  So Christ was offered once to bear the sins of many. To those who eagerly wait for Him He will appear the second time, apart from sin, for salvation.  Hebrews 9:28.  So the first coming was to take away sin, and the second coming is to bring

The Atonement.

He shall take from the congregation of the children of Israel two kids of the goats as a sin offering, and one ram as a burnt offering...Then Aaron shall cast lots for the two goats; One for the Lord and the other lot for the scapegoat.  And Aaron shall bring the goat on which the Lord’s lot fell and offer it as a sin offering.  But the goat on which the lot fell to be the scapegoat shall be presented alive before the Lord, to make atonement upon it and to let it go as the scapegoat into the wilderness.  Leviticus 16:5-10

Here we have two goats for a sin offering and a ram for a burnt offering.  A sacrifice that dies and a sacrifice that lives.

For the law, having a shadow of good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with these same sacrifices, which they offer continually year by year, make those who approach perfect.  Hebrews 10:1.

Here we see that the sacrifices are shadows, and when the real comes it will make those “who approach perfect”.  As “a sin offering”, Christ was offered once.

So Christ was offered once to bear the sins of many.  To those who eagerly wait for Him He will appear the second time, apart from sin, for salvation. Hebrews 9:28.

Here we see that the sacrifice that pointed to Christ was a sin offering.  Paul says that the first advent was for, or to do away with sin.

The Law of the Atonement demands that there be two Messiahs and two advents.  The SONS of God, represented by the two goats, make the atonement.

For the earnest expectation of the creation waiteth for the manifestation (revealing) of the sons of God.  Romans 8:19.

My understanding that the Spirit gave me of this text is that one of the Sons of God has been revealed to us through the blood atonement.  Other Sons are yet to be revealed.  First and foremost of these Sons is the heir; the One who has the same name and who is in His likeness.  He is equal in every respect to the One already revealed, and is the “live” atonement.

I saw in the night visions, and, behold, one like the Son of man came with the clouds of heaven, and came to the Ancient of days, and they brought him near before him.  And there was given him dominion, and glory, and a kingdom, that all people, nations, and languages, should serve him: his dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom that which shall not be destroyed.  Daniel 7:13-14.

Most of the Christian world believe the atonement was finished at the cross; however, Leviticus chapter sixteen tells us that there are two that make an atonement, one that dies, (same as the stones that Moses threw down and were broken) and one that lives (stones put into Ark).

And he shall take of the congregation of the children of Israel Two kids of the goats for a sin offering ... And he shall take the two goats, and present them before the Lord at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation. And Aaron shall cast lots upon the two goats; one for the Lord, and one lot for the scapegoat.  And Aaron shall bring the goat upon which the Lord’s lot fell, and offer him for a sin offering, But the goat, on which the lot fell to be the scapegoat, shall be presented alive before the Lord, to make an atonement with him, and let him go into the wilderness.  Leviticus 16:5-10

There is another atonement made, that is the pair of Doves, one is slain the other is dipped in the blood of the slain bird then set free.  This is another way of saying that the Priest makes an offering for Himself and His house.  The one set free represents, another Comforter, the one set free when Jesus went into a deep sleep like Adam.  The one Jesus promised that He would send if, or when, He went away.

These two atonements show that there are three that make the atonement, they are the same as the angels of Revelation 14:6-9 “having the everlasting gospel to preach to those who dwell on the earth”.  Those who dwell on the earth are the same as “make those who approach perfect.” The ones “having the everlasting gospel, are the ones who the offerings are a shadow of.

The Priest

We know that Jesus is both Priest and King.  As king Jesus said ...All authority has been given to Me in heaven and earth.  Matthew 28:18.  God who at various times and in different ways spoke in times past to the fathers by the prophets, has in these last days spoken to us by His Son, whom He has appointed Heir of all things, through whom also He made the worlds;  Hebrews 1:1-2.  As Priest we read, And inasmuch as He was not made priest without an oath (for they have become priest without an oath by Him who said to Him: The Lord has sworn and will not relent, You are a priest forever according to the order of Melchisedec).  Hebrews 7:20-21.  We have such a High Priest, who is set at the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens.  Hebrews 8:1.  This is a type for the Second Advent.  To him who overcomes I will grant to sit with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne Revelation 3:21.

“The Lord is one!”

Hear, 0 Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one!  Deuteronomy 6:4.

One = being or amounting to a single unit or individual or entire thing, item, or object

So the Lord is the “entire thing” there is no other, one Lord, the Creator of heaven and earth.  The Bible says “Let us make man in our image”, us and our indicate more than one but yet “a single unit”, One Family.  “The Lord is one!”  The Creator of heaven and earth.  The only God that creates.  Romans 1:20 gives us the formula “the visible shows the invisible” A man marries a woman the two become “ONE”, their offspring is them two in “ONE”.  Jesus, is the only begotten (begotten = to bring into being; produce) of the Father.  (John 1:14).  He is that “one”, the Lord is one (the creator and redeemer).

The three angels of Rev.14 have the everlasting gospel; they have what it takes to not only bring salvation, but to give salvation.  This is the atoning work to bring man back into harmony with the Creator.  The good news is that the Son of God became the second Adam so that He could finish the work that Adam failed to do. The Three Angels, in the typical application, are “the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost and these three are one.” (1John 5:7.) With the repeat of the Three Angels, or in the antitypical application, the Word made flesh, Jesus our Messiah is the Everlasting Father. Another Comforter, the woman of Rev. 12 is the Mother and the Child that is caught up to Heaven, the one like the Son of man, is the Son.  All three, we have seen, make an Atonement.  This Atonement is the everlasting gospel which they are proclaiming.

The repeat of the “Three Angels’ Messages” begins with Jesus as the “Everlasting Father” announcing, “The Hour of His Judgment is Come”. “For the Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the Son:” John 5:22. And the repeat of the Second Angels Message of Revelation 18, “Babylon is Fallen is Fallen “, proves that it is hard, almost impossible, for the nations to accept the “The Woman” with a crown of Revelation 12-the Queen.

And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand, The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb: And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name. Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus. And I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Write, Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours; and their works do follow them. Revelation 14:9-13.

During this time, when the Beast and his image are accepting worship, i.e. standing in the holy place, is the time Jesus referred to when He said,

When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:) Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains:  Matthew 24:15-16

In the final application of “the abomination of desolation”, the man of sin is Satan himself.  Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God. II Thessalonians 2:4.  ...shall plant the tabernacles of his palace between the seas in the glorious holy mountain; yet he shall come to his end, and none shall help him. Daniel 11:45.

Then it is that there is no other choice than to, “flee into the mountains” (the Mountain of the house of the Lord. Isaiah 2:2.); for God has set His capital, “the New Jerusalem” here for His Bride and His Church to flee to.

Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live.  For as the Father hath life in himself; so hath he given to the Son to have life in himself.  And hath given him authority to execute judgement also, because he is the Son of man. John 5:25-27.

These verses tell us of the work of Jesus, who judges the dead and gives life to them.  And the work of the Son of man, Jesus’ Son, who is also given authority to execute judgement because he is the Son of man, the promised Son. (Galatians 3:16).

Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ?  He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son. whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father: (but) he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also.  Let that therefore abide in you, which ye have heard from the beginning.  If that which ye have heard from the beginning shall remain in you, ye also shall continue in the Son, and in the Father.  John 2:22-24

Here we see that the verse is talking about Jesus the Christ.  If we deny that Jesus is the Son we are a liar, and if we deny that Jesus is a Father we are a liar.  If we deny Jesus’ Son we have neither Jesus as the Father or His Son that has (gives) life.  The Son is the life line for us; He is the heir that we are joint heirs with. (Romans 8:17).

Yours to meet Christ in His Kingdom
